Re: Suicide Compilation Pt.5 - Jumping
I counted only one collateral death from a jumper landing on an innocent bystander. I also counted three uninflated air bags. Too little, too late on those. The one guy waiting with the broom and dust pan was being a bit presumptuous. Very bouncy, these humans. |

Re: Suicide Compilation Pt.5 - Jumping
~ It takes an average of 28 (25-30) stories to reach terminal velocity, (280-330 ft), just as the individual hits the flat pavement. ~ However, death is most likely to occur from less than that, from the top of five stories, (50-60 ft). Some of these attention whore jumpers did not know that, & lived to painfully regret it, but they got their attention, hospital attention that is. ~ By definition, terminal velocity is a constant speed which is reached when the falling object is met with enough resistance to prevent further acceleration. Terminal velocity then, is the fastest speed you will reach on your sky dive; this is usually around 120 mph. ~ When falling in the standard belly-to-Earth position, an average estimate of terminal velocity for skydivers is 120 mph (200 km/h), and a falling person will reach terminal velocity after about 12 seconds, falling some 450 m (1,500 ft) in that time. ~ TERMINAL VELOCITY CALCULATOR: https://www.gigacalculator.com/calcu...calculator.php |
