Re: Suicidal fall from a High-rise Building in Cambodia
Happened in Poipet. Apparently, the deceased was a Thai national who had been tricked into working in a 'call centre' in the building. Thousands of desperate Asians are apparently tricked into working in these call centres, forced into scamming foreigners out of thousands. Their passports are confiscated and they are forced to participate in the scams, which range from money laundering and crypto fraud to 'love scams', where they pose as attractive women online. The United Nations estimate that at least 100,000 people in Cambodia were forced into operating cyber-fraud schemes. https://www.matichon.co.th/social/news_4990917 |
