Suicidal Drowned Couple Floating by and Plummeting Down Waterfalls

On June 3rd, authorities received a report from local residents about the discovery of 2 bodies at the water plant of a stream in the Lao Cai Province.

Ms. Dang T. T. H, 31 years old, residing in Hanoi. Her body was retrieved on the afternoon of June 3th and her the body of her partner Mr. Truong H. N, 38 years old, was located and recovered on the morning of June 5th after a multi-day search.

Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of the commune directed the commune police to deploy forces to the scene; at the same time, they mobilized the commune's Military Command, militia, forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, and local forces to coordinate the search and recovery of the victims.

At approximately 1:50 PM on the same day, the authorities reached the scene and recovered one female victim's body and they also continued to search for the remaining body.

Following initial scene examinations, local authorities noted unusual details indicating this may not be a standard accidental drowning.

The Ta Van Commune People's Committee stated that the victims were not swimming, and investigators are currently looking into a suspected joint suicide pact.

The victim's family did not file any complaints or grievances regarding the incident.
