Sugar Company Employee Ends Up Dead Under Locomotive
DR, Tuesday morning, a tragic incident took the life of an employee of the Central Ingenio Sugar Consortium (CAC). The victim, identified as Liphete Pierre was 35 years old and of Haitian nationality. According to preliminary reports, Pierre was aboard the locomotive and fell off and ended up under the freight wagons. The incident has caused dismay among his coworkers, who are shocked at the unfortunate human loss. So far, the company's executives have not issued any official statement about the incident to the media. |

The company doesn't even care they'll do anything to scrape it off the track so they get everything back up and running cuz the only thing they care about the numbers and that's profits. Rest in peace to the poor victim, May is soul rest in peace

The rail trucks must be from 1920 or before. Those are called "Arch-Bar Trucks", and are made out of bars of metal bent to shape. They were outlawed in the U.S. in the 1930's because they would fracture at bolt holes, but would stay in place and look like they were fine, until something jarred them, and they just fell apart, while spilling humans all over the tracks. They were replaced with trucks that used all castings, so if they cracked, it was easily visible and train crews walking by them could see there was a problem. "Arch-Bar Trucks" were the "Lauries" of the railroad world.  |
