Hardly. There's a lot of nerves, little bones and tendons that run through the hand, it's not a "flesh wound" by any stretch of the imagination. Even if it missed all those structures, it's gonna impair his mobility, strength and overall function just from the damage, not to mention how the scar tissue will impact it
