Re: Such Form! Such Grace! Suicide Jumper Does Flip to His Demise
Neighbors claim he lived in a tent at the foot of the tower and recycled to survive. Despite the efforts of firefighters and municipal officials, the tragedy could not be prevented. Cerro Navia. Santiago, Chile. August 2, 2025. A tragic event shook the commune of Cerro Navia this Saturday morning. At the intersection of Santos Medel and Salvador Gutiérrez streets, a man climbed to the top of a high-voltage tower and, after remaining there for a long time, jumped into the void while neighbors, firefighters, and municipal security personnel looked on helplessly, trying to persuade him. The man died instantly from the impact, and no one was able to intervene in time to prevent the outcome. According to local residents, the victim was homeless and had set up a makeshift tent at the foot of the tower, where he spent the nights, even during the heavy rains of recent hours. Despite his difficulties, he tried to get by: he traveled the streets on a tricycle, collecting unused objects that he recycled and then sold to survive. Those who knew him say he suffered from obvious depression, which could have influenced his dramatic decision. Following the incident, Carabineros personnel arrived at the scene to secure the scene. Once the police investigation was completed, the body was removed by a Forensic Medical Service (SML) vehicle. Location |

Re: Such Form! Such Grace! Suicide Jumper Does Flip to His Demise
My new favorite jumper of all time. Dios Mio can someone PLEASE POR FAVOR translate what he yelled and what the commenters said? Was that a triple or? Looked athletic to my untrained eye. The "boom" when he landed I liked most of all, better than the drop tower 400 lb "child" slap / thwack

Anyone that would do something like on the way out the door had some really good personality traits. In happier times I’ll bet he was a pretty cool guy. |

Constructive criticism/advice to all videographers: Insure that you have a clear, unobstructed view of the ground area beneath the jumper before recording. |
