Actually I believe red is a myth. It is movement they key in on; the red is used for theatrics for the spectators.

That was a professional job by a "hit bull". Notice how many other people were around, riding by on bikes or strolling in the street. Did the bull pay the slightest attention to any of them? Not for a moment. He carried out the hit and then just casually strolled on as if nothing at all had happened. This is a method that shows promise, particularly in places where the bovines are off limits (e.g. to Hindus.)
