Stiff Body of Drowned Teenager Retrieved from Lagoon After 3 Days
After intense search efforts, rescue agencies recovered the body of teenager A.D.R.F. early Wednesday morning after he was reported missing on Monday, February 9, after entering a lagoon in the municipality of Santo Domingo North. According to preliminary reports from witnesses and family members, the young man was swept away by a current into a deep, difficult-to-access area of the body of water. The incident occurred in the afternoon, while he was at the location with other young people. Following the report of the disappearance, emergency teams comprised of National Police officers, firefighters and certified divers were activated. However, the initial efforts faced logistical difficulties. According to family members and community members, around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, the firefighters temporarily withdrew, citing a lack of support divers and adequate equipment to continue the operation safely. These situations generated complaints from the community, which demanded greater support to expedite the recovery of the body and provide assistance to the family members. The work resumed later with a greater deployment of specialized personnel, which finally allowed the body to be located and extracted in the early hours of February 12, putting an end to the agonizing wait. |

He may be a teenager, but staying stiff for 3 days is still impressive. |

It’s okay for him to keep his stick. When the diver lifted him out of the water he was so stiff I laughed. |

I understand rigor mortis and what causes it, but I always get the creeps seeing a human body frozen in the position it was found.
