Without the safety gates on the truck he might have slid safely under it. He laid the bike down better than any DR accident victim in recent memory. Valiant effort, all for nothing...

Who knows. Location (Facing in the direction the motorcycle was traveling, truck approaches from right). (Unsurprisingly Google streetview coverage there is crap, with 11 years between two sets of pix. None of the pics show the scene as it looks in the vid. All of the pics show that the place is a shithole). Anyway, my point in posting the streetview is to say that there are no road signs facing in any direction in any of the pics. So, who knows? |

I have never ridden a motorcycle, just a dirt bike off road when I was a kid. So I don't know what the best maneuver(s) would be. I'm not saying he should have laid the bike down, just that he might have gotten lucky without the side barriers on the truck.
