Depends upon the number of people who are dead. Value of life is too cheap in India.. State's Minister announced compensation of Rupees 50 lakh(around 66.6k usd) to the family of the deceased person. (also it was likely due to the ongoing religious procession and literally you can win over the masses(for popular support) there by these kind of rare acts. But I have seen cases where more people.. like if more than 10-15 die then government only gives like 1 lakh rupees ( 1.3k usd) as compensation even if it was its fault like road/bride/building collapse. |
