If you put a plate like that on a car and drive it around town, you are just BEGGING to be stopped. Then, if you are carrying a gun on said stop, you are begging to be shot. So I say this idiot got everything he wanted on that day.

Even if they are 100% sure he is dead, they still have to handcuff him. They are not medical professionals and cannot declare him dead, and the medical professionals don’t go into active shootings. This, by handcuffing him, the threat is neutralized even in the case that the guy is still trying to fight, and the medics can assist. As far as yelling about his hands, that is a way to check responsiveness. He wasn’t responding or moving at all, so now it’s time to go hands on. Next step is cuffs, and next after that is medical aid assuming all officers are unharmed. Yes it’s silly, but you can thank scumbag’s lawsuits for those policies and rules. Common sense rarely exists in a courtroom.

I'm far from a fan of the police, and in cases like Daniel Shaver I would wholeheartedly agree with you. But some people just need to be shot. This is one such example. Good riddance SC retard! |

Also, after seeing so many police shooting videos, it never fails to amaze me that these guys continue to cuff obvious corpses. Always wondered at what point do they not cuff bodies anymore. Say he drove away and got tboned by a semi. They do they pull his mangled torso out of the wreckage and cuff him still? What if he was missing an arm. Do they cuff his other arm to his leg? |

My first knowledge of what a "sovereign citizen" is was from a video I saw in Real Police & Law Enforcement here from about 2 years ago, and it was a hilarious long video of a black teenage female with a cute Urkel nerd voice filming an unusually patient and kind cop that had stopped her, and she's explaining that she doesn't have to comply with his request for an ID because she's a "free citizen" (the term they used before "sovereign citizen" caught on?). It's probably the best slow burn video I ever saw of a cop, and she was sooo confident he couldn't possibly arrest her, and then- well, you know what happened  I tried to find the video again to post in this topic (it's not a death video however) for some laughs but it seems beyond my DR search skills  |
