Re: Sniper Shot In The Face..
Having an optic sight on a piece of shit AK does not a sniper make...... I would say he was taken out by a sniper, one most likely using a Dragunov, a truly great long distance 7.62 rifle in the right hands. Being semi automatic it can be fired at a rapid rate with great accuracy (given the right shooter that is, oh and a damned good spotter....lets not forget the oft forgotten right hand man of the team who watches & learns the repeated habits of the foolhardy and will tell his man where to watch for the bobbing head and when its about to appear. The spotter also has a greater field of vision so can pick out muzzle flash and (more often) dust from a firing position and zone in on any fool willing to fire off more than one, two at most rounds from the same position. I bet the shooter moved position after firing and hitting this foolhardy gung ho hero of the revolution. |

Re: Sniper Shot In The Face..
You reckon? I see in my crystal balls, a long drawn out miserable death by either chocking on his own blood or infection setting in the large cavity in his head. Hospital facilities are very few and far between and the much needed medical supplies are saved for those with a good chance of survival...its not downtown in your local city where hospitals throw medical supplies at a bruised toe....that always gets me about these things when people assume the injured will get the same treatment as they would in their local fully equipped trauma unit....in war medical supplies are controlled to stop the enemy from saving their fighters. One of the biggest objections against the sanctions against Iraq after 1991 was the blockade of almost all medical supplies into the country including female sanitary items...because they can be used to dress wounds (A tampon is actually a blood absorbing military field dressing, hence the name of the popular implement of male torture meaning a week or so of knocking one out in the shower) If you look at his right eye and noticed the bruising and bulging directly over the eye socket, this is caused when a round enters the head and the pressure wave liquifies the area behind the eye pushing it forward. Get hit anywhere with a full metal jacket 7.62 round and your in trouble, big trouble as the trauma the round causes as it flies through your body is huge (especially when it has travelled a good distance, close up it can go through with minimum damage as it is so powerful). The Dragunov can fire standard 7.62, tracer, armour peircing etc as issued to the average trooper. But, if he was hit by a rifle firing specific sniping ammunition, he would be in even deeper trouble as the steel jacket and shapened core is pushed down the barrel with a larger amount of bang dust and the shell contains a special "air pocket" which is designed to aid the projectile in causing massive trauma over a long distance. Lucky? maybe if infection sets in quickly and his brain is jellified enough he will be lucky otherwise he may survive to drool on street corners begging a living in a nation of uncaring people sickened by the effects of civil war. |

Re: Sniper Shot In The Face..
Thats not really a sniper, given that he shoots multiple shots from the same place without even switching his spot, snipers also have a spotting pair.
