Actually, it is. The Germans had them in WWII. Google the "Krumlauf"
The barrels didn't last too long, but they had telescopic sights on some of them, and they worked pretty well.

That's pretty awesome, it looks like it uses a prism diagonal. I found this French periscope gun photo too--it took like half an hour to remove all the dick-snorting alarmy watermarks from it, but any time spent stealing from gay-pirate squads is time well spent in my estimation.
