Ecuador. A massacre took place in the Nápoles nightclub and its surrounding area, in the province of Guayas , in the early hours of Sunday.

The venue opened its doors only to receive family and friends of Jorge L.U.F, the owner of the establishment and turned out to be one of the 8 fatalities.

Jorge, 40 years old and brother of the mayor of Santa Lucía, was the owner of this entertainment center for more than four years, which operated next to his home, where he lived with his mother, wife and daughters.

Jorge, at the time of the armed attack, was at the door of his establishment controlling the entry and exit of customers, because his wife had given birth just a month earlier to their fourth daughter, whom he never met, said a close friend.

We were dancing when more than 50 gunshots were heard outside the club. My cousins and I ran to the bathroom to hide. Other customers hid under tables and at the bar. If those guys had come in, I wouldn't be here telling the tale as I'd be dead by now, said a friend of the owner.

A friend of one of the victims, said the gunmen, who arrived in two vans, were believed to be among the group of friends gathered outside the entertainment center.
