Re: Sitting in His Car with Half of His Skull Missing
A high velocity projectile sets up a transitory hydrostatic pressure wave which creates a wound cavity - but - also a temporary cavity. A lot of times, the temporary cavity does more damage than the permanent wound cavity. For a split second, the pressure inside the skull can exceed what the skull can contain and then...SPLAT! It's the 'hydraulics' that did most of the damage here. |

Re: Sitting in His Car with Half of His Skull Missing
I suppose it's the same thing that happened to JFK's skull. One shot from a high velocity rifle round ripped his skull clean open. When I was watching this video, I was thinking it was because of a traffic accident. Some large flat piece of metal from a crash sliced open his head. Then I saw those bullet holes and was like "damn!". |

Re: Sitting in His Car with Half of His Skull Missing
The head is a lot like a water balloon. The brain is largely water and the skull is like a thicker 'balloon/shell'. A head may be popped in a similar way to how a water balloon may be popped. |
