Siblings Kept the Corpse of Their Father Inside Their House for Several Months
Ilha do Governador, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil A pair of siblings was arrested by officers on Wednesday (21) for concealing a corpse, resisting arrest, and causing bodily harm. The investigation indicates that the two kept their father’s body inside a house for at least six months. The body of Dário A.R.D., aged 88, was found in an advanced state of decomposition in one of the rooms of the residence. The report came from neighbors who stated they had not seen the elderly man for several months. According to the police, the suspects - Tania C.M.D. and Marcelo M.D. - resisted the officers’ entry into the property, and Marcelo even engaged in a physical altercation with one of the officers. At the scene, in addition to the body, officers found apparently new belongings, raising suspicions that the suspects were financially benefiting from their father’s death, possibly misusing funds or benefits in the elderly man’s name. The possibility that the elderly man was murdered has not been ruled out. Forensic examinations are being conducted to determine the cause of death and the approximate time of death. The accused were admitted to a hospital under medical care due to signs of mental disorders. |

I mean it would be very inconvenient to have a dead body in the house. Wouldn’t it be a good thing to get the body out as soon as they die. wtf kind of logic is this. I can see going into a hysteria if a parent lost a child and went mad and kept the child’s body, but a parent… I feel like they were just dirty people and enjoy the mess

I would agree with the mental disorder thing. No one in their right mind would allow grandpa to melt on that perfectly good bed. I wonder who’s bed that was next to him!?! |

Re: Siblings Kept the Corpse of Their Father Inside Their House for Several Months
News report, which features an old photograph of Dario (who was born in Italy). Also includes an interview with a neighbour, who says her backyard overlooked his backyard. She believes Dario was dead for just over a year when he was found. Dario worked as a mechanic, and after retirement, was often seen in his garage, working on his car. His neighbours were surprised when Dario seemingly dropped off the face of the Earth. Eventually, the police got a warrant to search the property. The main theory remains that Dario's death was not reported so that his children could continue receiving his benefits. Tania and Marcelo had gone so far as to seal the cracks on all the windows and doors, to keep in the stench of decomposition. The neighbour believes that Dario was being mistreated by them, and regrets not intervening. |
