Re: Shocking Video Shows Axe Attack at Xinjiang Gaming Hall
Without wishing to patronize you, the events that take place in this video have nothing to do with communism nor capitalism. The attack was motivated by religious hatred and committed by people with severe personality disorders. It can occur, as you well know, in any society, regardless of it's political ideology. To band together and defend the lesser able is a human trait, not exclusively a communist one. Some of the bravest, most selfless and communist acts I have ever known of were by 'capitalist' Americans - all the emergency personnel who ran towards their deaths on September 11, and the thousands who died on D-Day and in every other conflict because they wanted to do something to help the world be nicer. Equally, some of the most selfish and brutal crimes I ever saw were carried out by Chinese communists. Don't blame the system for acts of individual wickedness, nor credit it for acts of heroism. Heroism is driven by love and bravery and that is a very individual attribute also. This video is about hatred, bravery and love for life, fuck all to do with economic and political systems. Way too intense for those kind of thoughts to process. If you are ever in a situation like that, I sincerely hope not, but if you are you will know what I mean. |

That was one of the more articulate and well thought out posts I've seen. Thank you for saying what I wish I had the patience to say. Well done.
