Re: Shark Attack (aftermath)

I live very close to South Padre Island, TX (about 15 minutes away,) and apparently there have now been 7 confirmed attacks just today. The hurricane (Beryl- currently a category 3) that is moving toward the Gulf of Mexico is being blamed for the unusual marina life activity.
Getting your leg bitten off is a very odd Hurricane injury!

Man ? when its clearly a Female.

Shark is a bit too big for a Blacktip IMO, I believe that it's a Bronze Whaler.

Re: Shark Attack (aftermath)

Anyone ID that shark? Blacktip, maybe?

From dorsal to tail, it’s too big to be a black tip. The dorsal fin is also broad, with little curvature. It looks like a Bull, and the aggression of attacking 4 people matches.

That’s what happens when they share the same space with a creature that has the highest testosterone levels in the animal kingdom.

Yeah, they're nasty (bull sharks.) I think the blackish tip that appears on the dorsal fin was maybe just shadows.

Doesn't look like she was concerned about the make and model at the time.

That's why i prefer this over any ocean, sea, lake, river, stream, canal, water-filled ditch.

Re: Shark Attack (aftermath)

Excellent find! Victim and perpetrator all in the same video. Blood in the water, her leg half eaten and she’s still alive at the time of recording. Truly excellent footage!

I was trying to generate an image of a cop IDing a shark, but I got this instead.
