Armed members of the Free Papua Movement (OPM) attacked and set fire to a security post, killing two people. Authorities have yet to identify the deceased, whose bodies were carbonized. PT Kristalin Eka Lestari, which operates in gold mining, owned the targeted security post.

In a separate claim circulated online, the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB-OPM) said its fighters carried out an operation in the area around 2:30 p.m., burning a military post, damaging a vehicle, and seizing weapons. The group claimed higher casualties among Indonesian forces.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions in Papua, where separatist groups have waged a low-level insurgency for decades, seeking independence from Indonesia. Attacks on security posts, infrastructure, and personnel remain common in the resource-rich but restive region.

I know from experience... those kinds of charred bodies are a pain in the ass to move. I recommend using rope to get them into those trauma body bags with the strap handles
