The victim was shot in the head with fire from another vehicle that pulled up alongside on the Avenida Departmental, a street located in the south of the city. It is believed he could have been shot as many as six times, despite getting free from his car and calling for help. Guerra was rushed to Hospital Barros Luco but reportedly pronounced dead minutes after arriving.
