Not that this changes much, but the man was homeless by choice; actually, he owned a house in via Vincenzo Barone, Santa Rosalia but after he divorced his wife and lost his job as a plumber, he decided to live like that. It's not very rare, I've personally known one engineer from Rome who belongs to one of the wealthiest families in the city but he lives as homeless by choice and he feels much better since he changed his lifestyle.
