A school security guard, 52-year-old Raimundo d.S.d.S.F., died in a shootout with criminals who attempted to steal his weapon on the morning of Monday (7). He had been working at the school for around five years.

According to the Military Police of Acre, one of the suspects, Leandro M.d.S., 18, was shot in the neck and was taken to hospital by paramedics. The severity of his injuries is still unknown.

Witnesses reported that three men arrived at the school with the intent to steal the guard's weapon. The security guard resisted.

It was reported that the first call to the police came at around 5:50 a.m., and about seven calls were made requesting police support, reporting an exchange of gunfire. Raimundo died inside the school before help could arrive.

The two other suspects involved in the crime managed to escape. However, one of the suspects came back to the scene to assist Leandro, his brother, and was arrested by police when they arrived at the same time.

I wonder if it would have been better for the security guard to have grabbed the robbers wrist pointing the gun at him with his offhand while drawing his gun to fire instead of swiping the robbers gun away
