Its a huge theological and racial conflict. Africa alone has hundreds of different races. most would live in harmony but there are a handful that get things going and that's why we see wars in sierra leone, ivory coast, the huge conflict in the drc, Somalia, Sudan, and the rest of the northern half. als countries above Tanzania, Kenya and south Africa don't make any money off of tourism like the south does so you get allot of poor ignorant desperate people doing what they can to get on the top an survive.
