Re: Russian Soldiers Torture Chechen Men To Death *Brutal*
You can never trust any government. Ever. But having visited Russia for a month I found the people to be generous, kind and friendly. One lady washed my clothes by hand (They don't know about coin laundry there) and then came back later and gave me a set of hand woven wool socks she had made. She refused payment even though she lived in poverty. What the Russian military does to Chechan muslims is well deserved. Look up Beslan.

Those shoulders looked pretty sore on the dude who was hanging up with his arms behind his back. Is that method of suspending someone called strappado? It causes intense pain and nerve damage whilst dislocating the shoulders and impinging blood circulation. |

Re: Russian Soldiers Torture Chechen Men To Death *Brutal*
I am half Russian..and i fear alot of people dont know the history of the Dagestan conflict. Basically.. Chechyna declared itself independent and in doing so there was alot of hatred to Russians and the non Chechens. This also goes back to Russias harsh treatment of Chechyna who sided with th Nazis when they invaded Russia, which also goes back to the 1800s when Russia defeated Chechyna. So Chechyna was agreed as being independent but a civil war broke out as two parties fought for control over the country itself, neither side was particularly nice and alot of killing and rioting happened. One of the groups turned to Russia for aid and asked Moscow to assist with weapons and the like to remove the current leaders. This was seen as an act of aggression by the current leader and they more or less declared war on Russia. This led to the first Chechen war. The Second Chechyan war was about 3 years later, happened when Islamic parties, the main religion in Chechyna invaded Dagestan an ally of Russia. Russia retaliated and eventually aided them in destroying Chechyna. Russia were actually the good guys here, sure they had their own intentions and both sides had their own hatreds. I hope this gives some information to people. |
