Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
Someone needs to find a VERY good eye doctor ![]() They are speaking Russian, but they DON'T belong to Russian Regular Army, nor to Russian Special Forces; russian regulars don't wear random shit, don't use random weapons. Maybe they're military/combat advisors, mercenaries, but they are NOT regulars, sure as fuck. |

Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
No one ever implied that they were Russian regular soldiers. There is plenty of footage of their special forces operating covertly (as well as the U.S.) in Syria. Here is a video that clearly shows them and their chosen attire is not out of line with this particular footage and the sledgehammer. https://www.funker530.com/russian-sp...-forces-syria/ |

Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
There WAS a video in that page, it has been removed from YT. Where exactly you see the match between the video in the op and that inexistent video? I'm not saying they aren't russians, just saying they are NOT regulars, period. Russian special forces don't operate while wearing tennis shoes in the desert. If you can prove me wrong I'll be happy with it, no problems at all. |

Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
Again, no one ever said they were regular Russian soldiers, at least I never said that. Do I know they are Russian special forces? No. No one would except for those within that community. What I do know, from my 12 year career in the military and multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, is that I have personally seen special forces operate in any capacity that they see fit and wear whatever they want/need and use whatever equipment they desire for a particular operation. I also know that funker530, whom is a source that I deem reliable, believes this narrative as well. That is why my thread has a (maybe?) in it. Doesn't really matter either way, they caught him in the battle field.. maybe moments after beheading that guy and decided to fuck his world up. So.. I wasn't there.. but still an interesting video none the less. |

Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
"No one ever implied that they were Russian regular soldiers." Hey nobody told you that YOU implied it, actually all I can tell you is thanks for sharing, both as a Mod and as a Member of the forum. But don't tell me that the dude who wrote the article, who obviously knows nothing about what is shown in the video, didn't, because he was clearly implying that. All I'm trying to tell you is that there is ZERO PROOF that they are russian soldiers, and that everything indicates that they are MERCENARIES, which is something very different from being SOLDIERS, even more from being Spetsnaz. Heck, nobody is attacking you, but the dude who wrote the article could have used different words. Talk about some RUSSIANS torturing some SYRIAN, don't mention soldiers because Russian Army has nothing to do with it: those are people who get paid to kill and damage, and not only russians, but also italians, greeks, polish, germans, spanish, belgians, british people do the same shit on daily basis. But they are MERCENARIES NOT SOLDIERS, so don't call them soldiers because they are only pieces of shit who do this for money. MUCH respect for your 12 year career in the military, mate! |

Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
They're not Russian. How do you know they're not Chechen? Your sources are bullshit and your pitiful excuse to say" not regular RU soldiers" is even more laughable. This site is full of bullshit and your evidence is part of it. Explain to me Russian soldiers beheading people in Syria be they Sunni or Shia. You have no idea what you're on about. |

Re: Russian Solders (maybe?) Beat ISIS Guy with Sledge Hammer
I don't know exactly who they are. But it's not that unusual for well trained special forces teams to utilize mismatched weapons, clothing and equipment from a variety of sources in a bid to attain some degree of anonymity and untraceability and also to more easily 'blend it' with the local population. The US and UK special forces often grow their beards and hair to be more in keeping with local standards. Also, they will sometimes wear local garb. I used to know a Vietnam vet Recon guy that used to go on missions with a captured AK because the sound of an M-16 firing even one shot would bring the VC running from all directions whereas a random AK shot or two was fairly common in some areas. (They sound very different.) |

Taliban and ISIS very often wear tennis shoes, so if you are leaving tracks behind you as you walk, you might just as well not leave tracks that signal "Enemy Military Passed This Way!".
