A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after stabbing another man to death in a courtyard. The man reportedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen, inflicting a penetrating wound to the front of the abdominal cavity. The victim died in hospital two and a half hours later.

The man was previously convicted of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm that resulted in death. After serving his sentence and being released from prison, he had been placed under administrative supervision, which he violated on two occasion.

During a court hearing, the suspect did not object to his detention. A judge remanded him in custody for two months.
