Russian Gymnast Dies After Falling from 'Wheel of Death'
Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk, Russia During a rehearsal at the Magnitogorsk State Circus, 22-year-old gymnast Victoria B. died after she fell from the dangerous 'Wheel of Death' attraction. As it transpired, Victoria was not an employee of the circus, but she was still allowed to take part in a rehearsal of the contraption. It is being investigated how an outsider ended up in the arena, who allowed Victoria to work with dangerous props, and whether safety requirements were met. |

To mount the wheel, she grabbed and held the rotating hoop until she could stand, but she should have rotated 180-deg around a vertical axis in order to face forward. Instead, she "log rolled" backwards and paid the price.   |

A drummer friend showed up without warning and drove me to a BOC concert. Never liked BOC, but RATT was warm up (July 1984?) and sounded awesome, very professional band similar sound to Van Halen and sounded much better then their hit single in concert. The guy that Shanghi'ed me to Blue Oyster Cult is the M60 door gunner in BAT21 with Gene Hackman and Danny Glover, the guy who gets shot in the cheek and dies. They needed actors and my friend was strolling thru Jakarta (or was it Manilla?) airport looking all caucasian and shit... |
