Police are hunting sick ghouls who watched and encouraged a young man to hang himself live on Skype.

Sergey K., 26, from the Russian capital Moscow, had announced his own death on a social networking site and asked anyone who wanted to see it via the online video service.

Astonished police say a dozens of people tuned in to watch Sergey, and made no effort to stop him as he took his own life.

In fact, several posted comments urging him to hurry up.

One even sneered: "Come on, are you ready yet? Go on - do it."

And another urged: "If a man says he's going to do something, he needs to do it."

Only one person attempted to stop him.

Shocking images of the Sergey's final moments have since appeared in the Russian media as police launch an investigation into those who watched his suicide.

Moscow police are now hoping to trace all the sick spectators through their internet service provider.

Spokesman Leonti Zubarev said: "It is beyond belief that people could watch this as a form of entertainment.

"We will be investigating everyone who watched this incident, especially those who urged him to carry it out who may be guilty of negligent homicide."

I don't think he was struggling to get out after he took the step. It's only natural for one's body to react away from harm. Just because you want to burn your hand doesn't mean your hand won't jolt back from the fire

i was going to say staged but seeing that beer belly with no breathing motion at all, i had to concede its legit. it's alway sad when a man that looked that big and capable resorts to death as the final solution.
