Re: Russian General Vyacheslav Gladkikh Killed in Syria by IED
classic lollipop IED. No idea why they were parked so close... and ffs, why in the hell would you walk up to it so casually like that. They're lucky that IED wasn't packed with some heavier shit or they'd all be pico de gallo. |

Re: Russian General Vyacheslav Gladkikh Killed in Syria by IED
I had to rewatch that... so much fail. The entire convoy is stopped, basically right on top of what they think is an IED. At the beginning of the video, it looks like a semitruck was hit by an IED... so this would be a secondary. Another huge red flag to look out for and not an uncommon strategy at all. I mentioned the lollipop placement.. it's when they dig out the road to place the wire, and then the charge is placed.. it resembles a lollipop... that was in play here also. But what, the fucking what... there's a huge marker for anyone that is detonating the IED to the side of the road. I can't tell if it's a culvert, or what.. really doesn't matter. It's a marker for the detonator to reference when something is on or near the explosive. But if it is a culvert... jesus h christ. No caution whatsoever. And this guy was a general? I'm not savvy enough to know how to upload images here. The links are to a quick description of markers, and after the explosion, the camera spins to the side of the road, clearly showing a marker for detonation. ![]() |
