I was hesitant to post his name because I the picture I posted was uncensored and it was harder to find than the censored ones. In a case like this is it considered OK? I know in other posts you (DR staff) ask personal info to be removed.
yes as it's not only big news in Turkey but it's international news.
Only dead/murder cases that are national news in Brazil, Thailand etc or world-wide news cases are okay to use people's names in. The ones that get a load of attention but the ones we find in blogs and local news we prefer this:
To prevent any legal and emotional problems in the future we would appreciate not posting the names of the ones that are posted in the death pic/vid section or links to their FB/social media page or screenshots from whatsapp/their cellphone showing their name and/or telephone number or put up links where you found it. (you can blur or cut them out of the pic)
That is just in case relatives of the deceased one decide to google names and the fact the original photographer finds out their pics being re-distributed without his/her consent we appreciate you just mention the gender and the age.
Also mentioning places is not really needed.(Country and state/provence are just fine)
The less traces the better it is.
Actually that's how the gore site lovely disgrace came to an end and we don't want that happening.
Thanks, The Documenting Reality Team.
