Russia - Woman Runs In Front Of Truck
In the Tsivilsky district, a fatal accident occurred on the M7. A woman who was hit by a truck died. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chuvash Republic. The fatal accident occurred in the Tsivilsky district at the 692nd kilometer of the M7. A KamAZ driver with nonresident license plates ran into a woman who was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. "As a result of an accident, the victim died on the spot. The driver is sober," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chuvash Republic reported. |

Tough situation for the ped. Her choices were to stop for the traffic and straddle one of the center lines (hoping not to get clipped), or take her chances and sprint.  Looks like the truck saw her in advance and pulled into the shoulder. Either the brakes failed or the truck driver figured that the ped would stop in the middle of the crossing to let the truck roll through first. |
