Re: Russia - Marathon Runner Moments Before He Died
Almost half a million deaths are recorded every year from hyperthermia. High internal temperatures lead to increased pressure in your skull and decreased blood flow to your brain. Doctors diagnose “heatstroke” when the heat starts to affect your central nervous system. Damaged tissue may also enter your bloodstream and lead to kidney failure. i wouldn't be doing a marathon in high temperature conditions like that but often athletes think they're invincible but unfortunately for this guy physics and nature ALWAYS wins. |

Re: Russia - Marathon Runner Moments Before He Died
Just like those weightlifters who know they're lifting more weight than they're capable of + then end up snapping their limbs. Makes me wince watching videos of it.

Re: Russia - Marathon Runner Moments Before He Died
I mean that's how the marathon got its name. Messenger runs from Marathon to Athens and then dies. He's just a die-hearted history fan.
