Re: Run Over by Police Truck

So, as you may or may not know, we are having some little troubles here in Chile. Some folks are protesting in the streets and today one of those guys was run over by a police truck.

There is no much information as this happened just a few hours ago, but first reports says that this guy was outside the Monumental soccer stadium when a police truck, in an attempt to flee from the attack of a group of protestors, run him over.

Bottom line: This guy is as dead as anyone who is hit by a police truck can be. In fact, died a few minutes ago.

That's life in the big city, i guess
Just saw the film "NO!" for the first time. VERY interesting story. What's happening down there now?

It all can be summarized in that this country has long been regarded as one of the wealthiest in Latin America, but privatized education, health care, and pension systems still disproportionately favor the wealthy, and they have left a significant portion of the population in poverty or debt. So, on Friday, 18 October protests began. From that time on, there have been a lot of protests, deads and skirmishes but the political elite doesn't listen to the demands. History repeats itself, i guess...
