Re: Ronnie Milsap Drives Over Motorcyclist Making Part of Him Mush
That's so effing wrong. I love it! A side note: My parents took me to one of his concerts in the early 80's. He walked out on stage all by himself, even stepping over cables and around instruments over to the middle of the stage... Took a bow while the audience applauded and then dead sprinted to the left side of the stage towards his piano. He got within inches of reaching the front of the stage and stood straight up while the audience gasped/screamed thinking he was about to take a nose-dive into the crowd. He stood up laughing while pointing at the audience and clapping. Then, he sat down at his piano and said, "You should have seen the look on y'alls faces! Who said being blind was no fun?" True story. Been a fan ever since... |

Re: Ronnie Milsap Drives Over Motorcyclist Making Part of Him Mush
Nice. I saw him at a concert near here in '81, and he climbed aboard his piano, then jumped off. He started the concert by saying he was almost late, due to the crew letting him drive into town. A fellow DJ and I had tickets gifted to us, which allowed a backstage interview for the station. He was a very humble guy, and at one point, removed his sunglasses to wipe off some sweat, and I swear he was staring right at us for a couple minutes. I guess his senses were highly tuned to his surroundings. He seemed very comfortable. We left, being highly impressed with his personality. I wish I could locate the tape of the meeting, but the station is now defunct. |
