Coal mining is a job I’d never take no matter how poor off I was. Those guys work too hard and get paid shit wages to be holding hands with the reaper for 12 hours a day.

Am I seeing this right or did the sheer force pressing him against the chain basically cut him in half at the chest?

Would definitely be '' injuries incompatible with life''

Good eye. I didn't notice that rigid chain. Whether it sheered him or just squashed him, same result.
