Re: Road Rage

It's in the last of the Wire. Those characters are Marlow and Proposition Joe. That's actually a pretty sad part, Prop Joe was really cool.
I remember that scene but the one that bothered me the most was the way Omar died. Fantastic, absolutely A-Miller series, I miss the wire.

I only live 80 miles from B-more and I work there also. Municipal corruption, abandoned buildings, and a hell of a lot of violent crimes plague that city.

BTW, so good to see you back my friend!!! Can't wait to see more of your creative ingenuity!! Missed ya bro!!

But yeah, Prop Joe was a cool kat and it sucked to see him getting whacked by one of Marlo's crew members (forgot his name).

Thank you. For missing me. Did you always have the same name? You remind me of a different member here, Sickworld, but I'm sure I saw him in the Dr Thermomikinz thread.

That Omar scene was crazy. I love that character so much. There was something very Scarface about it, only it was stretched out over a few episodes--after he broke his leg. The way he was spazzing in the open, trying hard to die fighting, with no takers, and then getting cut down by a child in his blind spot like that. I love how in the end he was robbing dealers, and pouring their drugs directly down the storm drains right in front of the stash houses.

If you havn't seen it The Deuce is a newish David Simon series. Tons of the same actors, same style--noticeably so, but it degenerates to such a degree through the seasons that watching past the first and maybe second season could actually cast a shadow on those two--it did for me, and I'd like to watch the first season again too. The first season really is flawless though. The seasons have most of the same characters though them, only they're divided by around 5 years of time meant to have gone by. Early 70's New York pimp thugglin', style jugglin',

And it's all just one heartbreaking disappointment after another, and a constant reminder of how much I should have been born in a different time.
Deadwood makes me feel that way too.
What I'd to live in a time when charlatans and control freaks could just be drawn down upon in a thoroughfare or stabbed, and simply rolled out of the way of horse traffic and carriages full girls in corsets, before continuing on to your claim.

Chris Partlow, you mean I think.
He's in The Deuce too.

Not half as weird as seeing Diangelo Barksdale playing a police though. A really cool police too. Really cool--he back hands a pimp for laughing at this fat hooker jumping out of a window.

I think it could be a gun with rubber bullets, they are kind of 'popular' in Russia.

I have been using this name since I signed up some years ago. I don't think I have crossed paths with "Sickworld" yet (or maybe I just don't remember).

I had never heard of "Duece" until now. But, I will be sure to check it out. Looks fascinating, at least the first season or 2 anyways. I am going to keep this in mind as I watching it, more so as a means of damage control caused by disappointment, especially since you also liked Deadwood apparently as much as I did.

At any rate, I liked your description of how Duece seemingly devolves into the drab, supercharged homosexual, 80's glory hole club hopping, San Francisco men's synchronized swimming team (which never once defeated the large - breasted, anabolic steroid juice shooters from the Soviet Union in the gay olympics).

The only thing gayer than Degrassi, which I had the very unfortunate experience of observing when my teenage daughter was younger, back when she fancied Nickelodeon, was that God awful, blood curdling, and putrid rotting Limburger death cheese of a show called "Glee." I still remember sitting in the tech room on a midnight shift at a semiconductor company I used to work for just staring at my computer screen in absolute horror and disgust after hearing their cover of "Don't Stop Believing" from Journey. I used to spend much of my spare time at work back then trolling youtube under numerous sock accounts or searching for the worst music videos on the internet. That was one of maybe 3 times the cheese was so bad I couldn't even laugh at it. If you haven't heard of Glee and especially their version of "Don't Stop Believing," I will just say that you cannot unsee or unhear something and leave the rest to your discretion.

As far as living in another time, all I can say to that is anything but the pervasive bullshit artistry effectuated everyday in these times. Cheers my friend!
