In 1823 President James Monroe warned European nations that the United States wasn't going to tolerate further colonization, Latin American countries will end up being absorbed by the American Empire, quite possibly in less than 600 years the Star Spangled Banner will be flying on those territories, studded with additional stars.
The people from south of the border will lose their privilege to have a country because of their stupidity and they will have to blame Darwin for their sad fate. Mexico lost more than half of their territory due to said stupidity that the American government very intelligently took advantage of.
If it happened twice in the past to Mexico nothing prevents it to happen a third or fourth time, those guys never learn.
