Re: Ricardo Lopez Suicide [Björk Stalker]
I've been doing the whole shock/gore scene since 2002 and I have to say, over the years, I'm able to watch more and more online without having to turn away, but it's more out of a morbid fascination and an intrigue about the human condition...and all variations of it. Through all of it, it's desensitized me to seeing it online, but quite the opposite emotionally and offline. This video broke my heart for the guy. Sure, he had mental health issues that damn near got someone killed but the guy himself was quite mentally ill and chose to end it all for whatever reason(s), which are irrelevant. It saddens me that so many in this thread (and on this site) can actually laugh at the guy's appearance, sounds, etc. You witnessed a man take his life, ffs...and you laugh? This isn't "just the Internet". It was a breathing, feeling, very sick human being. It was quite clear he had become so mentally ill that he had literally become almost non-human. Too many people treat the video subjects on sites like this as "just some dude" and never seem to put themselves in the person's shoes....or those of the person's family. It's not my intent to come on a shock/gore site and preach. I assure you. I'm just curious as to why some find it so easy to mock and make fun rather than have the "courage" to feel for the people. I'm sure this 3rd whopping post I've made will make me less than popular around here but I had to say it.
