I knew as soon as he DIDN'T just shoot at least one of them (or even just fire a warning shot) the moment there was any struggle, that it was fake. Poor robber: couldn't afford a real gun, got more backchat than he could handle, got ventilated and all collapsy in the street, AND his partner ran off. Better luck next life, fuckwit.

I was wondering the same thing, but It looks like the wife is the one that had the pistol in the small of her back. When they fall to the floor and before the geezer shoots you can see him reach and pull it from the waist band in the small of her back. Am I wrong???

Bad_Ash - I was about to say the same thing. At the 40 second mark you can see him grab the gun from her. No idea why she would have been the one carrying but it's satisfying to see the outcome regardless.
