Restaurant Cashier is Shot Dead Over Extortion Demands
Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia A 27-year-old restaurant cashier, Adaluz P.S., was performing her duties on Thursday 10th (the CCTV footage says the 9th, but this seems to be an error) when two sicarios arrived at the establishment on a motorcycle. One of the sicarios entered the premises and shot Adaluz in the head, before fleeing with his partner-in-crime. Local citizens transported Adaluz to the local hospital by motorcycle. She was transferred due to the severity of her injuries, and shortly after midnight on Saturday 12th, doctors confirmed her death. The restaurant Adaluz worked at was the target of extortion demands by the criminal gang, Los Costeños - however, the restaurant owner refused to give in to these demands. |
