Re: Real or Fake? Kid shoots himself in the head
Why did the footage get all blurry when he puts the gun to his head? Did that just happen to happen while he was live streaming, or was this footage altered in some way? Also, what kind of shotgun (was a shotgun, right?) did he use.

Probably the camera refocusing on a closer object, or maybe as a result of him causing it to shift. He appears to be sitting on his bed and using his laptop camera, so his movement on the bed may have caused the camera to shift just enough to trigger a brief re-focus. He's using a Kel-Tec model shotgun, one that has dual magazine tubes. I don't know the actual model name of it, but I know that it's a Kel-Tec make. |

Re: Real or Fake? Kid shoots himself in the head
My brother-in-law did this. My husband and I lived less than a mile away and we made it there before the cops/medics. Also, my husbands parents lived next door to him and they were there before even us. I will never forget the screaming and sounds of both anger and despair. The sounds of dry heaving out of grief. Or the sounds of my brother-in-law gasping. His head didn’t blow off like this kid’s did. The bullet went straight through his temple. Obviously, it was a very different type of gun. He was 21. He lived for almost an hour. He was taken to the ER, life flight landed, and then it was shutdown because his heart finally stopped. The sounds of his friends arriving at the ER that morning, and his best friend yelling in agony. My mother-in-law shook in anger until she finally began crying after awhile. BTW, he did it in front of his girlfriend while they were arguing. It was about 5am. We got there so quickly because she had ran over to his parents house after in happened and then my husband’s teenage sister called us. When the doctor said he had died, my husband punched the bumper of his truck and it broke his hand.

Re: Real or Fake? Kid shoots himself in the head
I read a story like that elsewhere (may have even been here on DR) where someone mentioned that their friend had shot himself through the mouth in front of his girlfriend during an argument. The person even said that the girlfriend swore that even as quick as it was, she still saw a brief flash of "Oh, shit" on the guy's face in between him pulling the trigger and the bullet punching through the back of his head.
