 Too young... kid really lost all hope in life. From the chat logs he had nothing to look forward to, just felt life was meaningless. Sounds like some severe depression and isolation. I wish he would have seeked professional help, but even that isn't a full guarantee. Wish he would have thought about his mom, his family... people that loved him. I get days where I want to end myself, but I couldn't do that to my loved ones, I couldn't put such a burden on them. This really hits deep for me Hope his family finds some closure from all of this.

I agree with some of what you say, but people with depression feel isolated, don't want to venture out to seek professional help, people need to help them before the inevitable happens... its all the small things... over time, they add up.. and well.. you can't stop suicide.. but you may prevent someone who feels like shit, simply by talking to them, wishing them a good day..
