Exactly. And who's to say what the guys actually did when the trials are secretive and the prisoner doesn't even get an honest hearing. Did anyone get executed for running over students during Tienanamin square protests? Nope.

A 7.62 to the head at such close range made the skull explode, maybe the top of the head went up flying and they got a spray of mixed blood and brains all over their clothes, natural reaction was to jump back to get out of the way of flying blood and brains.
