This is common in a lot of cultures: justice as entertainment. A rational head shot would be highly anti-climactic (...well, except for the convicted rapist in this case). Plus several rounds send the message that, not that the executioner is shitty shot, but this is how evil the criminal is. One shot won't do the trick.

Of course in Yemen they shoot the guy and kill him and then shoot him again and again and again and again and again and fire the guns into the air a few times. I'm curious, when those nitwits fire those guns into the air and when the bullets come back down to Earth, do they get put on trial for murder if a bullet hits someone and kills them? |
