You are right of course that the odds are slim.. that was part of the humour of my statement. But ricochet depends on the projectile design, the velocity, the angle of impact.. and the type of surface being struck. Some potential scenarios though: If he had a mis-loaded cartridge that produced a low enough velocity to prevent a bullet from expanding/exploding on impact.. making it much more likely to ricochet.. like a really powerful squib or if a low powered pistol round loops around just the right way inside the rounded skull cavity.. Improbable but not impossible.. Another scenario would be maybe some numbnuts shooting AP rounds at a hard object ( like the rocky ground under/around the victim for example) at close distance.. This is just me hoping the stars line up that day in the middle east.. and someone has a camera :) |
