Re: Pulled From a Trunk, Executed and Ran Over

I just opened them up in premiere pro. I have already slowed the security camera.
FLIR stands for Forward Looking Infra-Red. basically the same thing.

The threads have already been joined. Not sure who it was.

Once I get the time sequencing done, I will merge the two side by side, and upload it here. Then the mods can do with it what they will.

I am a sky watcher as well. What I did, as not to ruin my night vision (and not be very visible for others), was just take a red "gel" (red transparency), and trace out the circle of my flashlight lens (I would use 2aa mag-lights.) I would make 2-3 of these, and just slide them in-between the reflector and the lens, then screw on the cap. The more gels I used, the less visible light there was. As my night vision became better through the night, I would just add more and more gels.
Sweet.
You could add them as contributions too. To the main post, and then KC would just accept it when he sees it I bet. Although I wanna see it sooner than that.

But the other thing I meant was, I use a laser pointer mounted to my telescope, as a spotter. But I would like an invisible beam, so people won't see blue or green beams emitting from some ritzy golf club at 3 in the morning.
There are these IR lasers that you can only see when you are wearing these glasses. The photos I've seen of it in action, makes it look crazy bright and visible, but I can't be trusted, I don't think, to make proper assessments of photos of this nature. Ha!

Re: Pulled From a Trunk, Executed and Ran Over

OK, so this is my first video editing ever (with no training).... so be kind.

-I slowed the security time, to accurate "live" time
-I split screened the phone footage with the security footage.
-I synced the video/audio to both. So it starts out with the security camera footage, then the phone camera footage comes in.

Any tips from anyone with video editing experience would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I just uploaded it here as I am a noob, and the mods can do with it as they see fit.

I am aware of the IR lasers you are speaking of, but they are not visible with just tinted glasses, they require an IR camera, or IR goggles/monacle which convert IR light into visible light. It's the same thing as what the special forces use. Just a warning, they are hella expensive, and will ruin your night vision.

It's perfect. I love such nice sound for security footage--you can hear his fingers on the trunk at the end.

My tip is edit more videos. People here like it. The first real compilation that I made for here has more than 20 000 views. Even the one that was relegated to the lower traffic War Section has over 5000, that's pretty good for over there.

What I like about posting here is how mean and honest a lot of people are, but the site is small enough that you can get an idea of what particular people are into, follow them around to see if they just hate everything, or if you can actually learn something from their vitriol. Same goes for those who like what you make.
My point is, this site is like a macrocosmic testing ground, but with a focus on the extreme ends of feedback, without middle ground--infinitely useful for creativity. I can't tell you how much longer it would have taken for me to learn how to use these various programs and do some of the things I can do, if I were posting in Youtube, or some other homogenized, or just diluted platform. I want my stuff arriving pure! Consistently!

I do wish there were more people who would show their ideas here though. Get a sort of bounce chamber going.

Thank you. You see, that's more than I could learn from the B&H site about it. I knew that IR laser idea was too good to be true.
My night vision is pretty good, I hardly ever go outside without sunglasses in day light. At night I use the red setting on a Black Diamond head lamp, so I don't even risk flashing myself with the bulb--my new one even has fluid dimming.
Speaking of night vision though, have you ever seen these?

They are only 2.1x magnification, but they really are like pupil dilator glasses. I'm really into anything wide angle. Them, and my 100 degree eyepieces are my favourite. I have a pair of Zeiss binoviewers too--I got them from this Croatian who opens up Zeiss equipment to modify them to take in more light. I use a refractor though, so I still need a glass path corrector to use them.

But most important of all is this: The warnings in the Vixen Optical manual. I had to use my razor sharp sense to fill in the captions.
Hours of entertainment.
