Re: Police Shoot & Kill Man Wielding a Golf Club During a Drug House Raid
Not all cops are bad. All are just human and sometimes mistakes are made......so I guess by some twisted logic presented here that the ones who make mistakes are bad too? Have YOU ever made a mistake? Probably just a little one, like a paper cut or something, right? But you never killed anyone by mistake like these crazed, rogue cops swarming the countryside. But I'd bet my bottom dollar you've never been a cop. But all bad guys on the other hand.........well....they're pretty much all bad. So next time you need a cop, and believe me someday you will, call one of your bad guy friends instead. Hopefully he can get to your house quickly in his 98 GEO Tracker to save you and your families life. Most likely though, he'll forget where he was going in the first place and stop off for a bag of weed instead. [end rant, bring it home] I don't think this incident was human error or anything else other than a cop doing his job. When they're at your door yelling "SEARCH WARRENT" ten times, it's probably a bad time to decide to go golfing. |

Re: Police Shoot & Kill Man Wielding a Golf Club During a Drug House Raid
Reading some of the comments, it's scary to live in a country where people simply write off someone's life simply b/c he was "accused"....I guess that's the norm though. Was this person a bad guy? Very possible! But, to truly find out, isn't that the point of a "trial by jury"? Have we really transformed into a country that executes someone without due process? I look at history and I'm truly scared at what could happen...Stalin, Mao, Hitler...those are just 3 leaders among an ocean of examples that were cut-throat ruthless...and many in those societies approved of that type of behavior. I do fear what the U.S. could turn into. On another thought process: do cops have it tough? Are they risking their own lives? Absolutely! And God bless the good ones! Those that are observing the Constitution: Keep doing the great job you guys/gals are doing! However, police should not be given a blank check or "get out of jail free" card. They too, like all of us, should follow the laws. Bad cops truly do exist. Court cases have proven that law enforcement can be just as criminal and evil as the thugs, murderers, rapists, etc. The no-knock warrants must end. This was not one of those; HOWEVER, any GOOD police officer should expect resistance and meet that resistance with EQUAL or less force. This wasn't the case here. There have been cases of police raiding the wrong house, and innocent occupants awakening to defend themselves, simply getting killed by police, yet, the police get off scot-free. What if the roles were reversed? When people spit on police – which they shouldn't – they are given assault charges or worse. However, there have been raids on the WRONG homes, yet, police are not charged with anything. If I “mistakenly” enter a wrong house, even without force or aggression, I go to prison, which is the correct response to that behavior; but law enforcement is treated differently. There is a double standard when it comes to law enforcement and it's not right. Regardless, they should NOT be vilified. It's not about being anti-police or pro-police, anti-thug or pro-thug, but simply being moral and just. |
