Police Remove Hanged Person Dressed in Red
China. Red is traditionally a Yang color symbolizing fire, energy, and life. Folklore suggests that by wearing red at the moment of death, a person can trap or enhance their life energy and intense grievances, transforming into a spirit with enough power to manifest in the physical world and haunt their enemies. Historically, especially for women in inferior social positions, this act was seen as a final, powerful way to protest injustice, such as abuse or betrayal. The suicide itself is not just an end to suffering but a way to put the other party in the wrong and invite supernatural or social punishment upon them. It is strictly forbidden to dress a deceased person in red clothes for their burial, as it is believed this will cause the corpse to become a ghost. Standard burial colors are typically white, black, or blue. |

Re: Police Remove Hanged Person Dressed in Red
I think ALL Chinese should dress in bright Plaids. With White Shoes! This would make them less likely to be hit by passing cars. |
