Plain and simple, law enforcement is not trained to wound or "shoot them in the leg". Nothing else I can say that hasn't already been addressed, in this thread (and many others).

How many of you whining about the cop doing his job also criticized the Texas(?) State Trooper, who was killed after yelling for the suspect to drop his weapon, like 20 times, and never opened fire, himself?

i feel like this. THe dude was in his own home, threatening his self. the cop couldve walked backward out the fucking doors or tased the guy, he didnt run at the cop with a knife, he took very slow steps towards him. I think this was wrong. Sure the cop shouldn't have to retreat, but goddamn, he was there on a suicide call, he should want to do all he can to let the dude fucking live. obviously suicide by cop was what this was, and he should have expected the man to act this way. wow

Also, one or two shots won't necessarily drop a man. Headshot, yes. Body mass shot? I've seen bullet wounds clean through abdomens that have missed major arteries and veins, which means you may be sore, but you can still be active and dangerous.

Empty the clip, and be done with it. Cop did the right thing: Gave plenty of warning, and then got rid of one more loon who wanted death by cop.

Lol everyone posting here is a comedian unto themselves. Everything is either "Clearly the cop had no choice but to shoot that guy who was... very slowly shambling toward him!" or "The cop had all these other options... none of which I would risk trying myself in that situation, but still!" Add above and below that a steady barrage of insults and profanity and you have the essence of this site.
