Re: The Poisoned Pie, Iraq War

You mean Islam? I don't think you do, but that is the system that breeds them.

If you mean the U.S., then the rest of this post is for you. If not, disregard it:

It disgusts me that people make excuses for fanatics, who know exactly what they're doing and freely chose to do so, as if they're children. "The U.S. was a bad parent!" Yes, they are our responsibility, aren't they.

It's just nonsense. The Middle East was a violent shithole before the U.S. did anything. What you seem to be implying is that America is responsible for Islam - clearly ridiculous once you spell it out.

Israel didn't help, though; but no one is forcing any Muslim to, say, blow up innocent civilians.
well said and very thought out.

Re: The Poisoned Pie, Iraq War

I deployed to Iraq in 2011 to help wrap things up. My Unit, although combat arms, did convoy security and route clearance for convoys south into Kuwait.
The Marines and soldiers in the first few clips acted like assholes. I get it was a different time then I was there, but we ran into those same kind of kids on our routes. We gave them water, Powerades, and candy. Our unit suffered no losses, or attacks. The kids warned us of two possible attacks because we're were cool with them.
Even in war, there's time for humanity.

There is...sometimes.

Not always.

Not constantly.

Not consistently.

Re: The Poisoned Pie, Iraq War

This video was posted here 2 years before ISIS launched their major offensive and kicked the govt forces almost completely out of Iraq and the start of it illustrates exactly why the came about and how they recruited. The consequences of the Iraq war are going to haunt all of us for decades to come, in ways that might not seem obvious until they (pardon the pun) explode

Re: The Poisoned Pie, Iraq War

Never should have went into Iraq in the first place. Saddam knew how to deal with those people.
